Denton John

One Week Old

At this time in Denton's life he liked being wrapped up in a blanket and rocked to sleep (especially by Grandma Riley, she had always the right bum spanking rhythm). A few days before this picture is when he was on the bilirubin lights for his Jaundice. I only saw him on the lights for an afternoon, but he really did enjoy the lights. It was only when I talked that he would cry out.

One Month Old

Denton at one month old was letting us know that he was not going to be a very hard baby. He never cried and we kept him happy by feeding him every 2 1/2 hours and making sure that he had enough sleep between feedings. He was starting to get a hang of holding up his own head and liked to being held instead of being in his glider.

Two Months Old

At two months old, Denton was becoming an even easier baby. He would only wake up once during the night wanting to be fed and would fall right back to sleep after he ate. This is about the time when I tried to get him to use two different types of binkies. The soothie binkie for when he was hungry but it wasn't quite time for him to eat, and the NAM binkie for when he was tired and wanted to go to sleep. Unfortunately, He gave up the soothie binkie and will only take the NAM binkies now.

Three Months Old

Denton was a lot more active at this time. He would smile for his mommy and daddy. He was even shy when you said "Hi" to him, by ducking his head into the person who was holding him. His legs were getting a lot stronger and he was starting to enjoy belly time for a little bit longer than usual. But we still haven't mastered rolling over unassisted. He can do a pretty good job with either Russell's help or mine.
