3 Year Pictures

Denton is 3!

On Saturday we threw a Batman party for our families.
He had so much fun dressing up as batman.
We had a Batman Cake that he took a bite out of when we were done singing 'Happy Birthday' to him.He opened presents like a Big Boy.

On Tuesday, his actual birthday, I asked him what he wanted for breakfast and he said "cake" (he helped me make cupcakes the night before and must have remembered the cake Grandpa had feed him for breakfast on Saturday). For lunch we went to McDonald's to let him play to his hearts content. We made chunk crayons that are about the size of Ding Dongs. Tried making Slime (Gak) but I didn't have glue, only Mog Pog and it didn't work. For dinner he wanted Cafe Rio (Following his dad's foot steps). We finished off the night decorating cupcakes and singing 'Happy Birthday' one more time.

It's Been A While

Yes, I know it has been a long time. I have been busy crafting,
losing our camera, and taking care of two very active children.
I started a new blog with my crochet crafts.
www.fireflydragoncreations.blogspot.com I will try and get some
pictures of things that I have been doing on this blog soon
but no promises because I don't like to break them.

Things that happened last month.

While I was in NYC, Russell enjoyed time with the kids and being at his parents. Denton had fun ruff housing with Papa. And My little miss Amy learned to crawl. I know I was going to miss it but Russell was kind enough to get it on his phone and send it to me.
Denton is a fish. We have been lucky enough to go with Katie and Jerry to Katie's parents and swim a few times. Each time Denton doesn't want to get out and is really mad when we have to go.
He is so brave and even jumps in with his flowtties.

Russell also throws him up in the air

He sometimes goes completely under the water.

Amy is now 7 1/2 months old and I still haven't taken her 7 month pictures. I will try and get them done today. Two weeks after learning to crawl, she learned to pull herself up on stuff to stand. She is getting really good at it and has tried to stand up in the middle of the room, Good thing its not working. I am not quite ready for that. Still have to re-baby proof. Amy also went swimming for the first time, she had so much fun and was not scared at all.

Her trying to climb the stairs.

Trip to NYC

It has been awhile since I blogged, and a lot of things have gone on.

On May 6th we drove down to Bluffdale where I left Russell and the kids,to stay with Russell's parents, as I headed to the airport with my Mom, two sisters, two sister-in-laws, and a 4 month old niece. We got on the Red EYE flight to NYC. Our hotel was the Double Tree Inn and Stuites. It was right in Time Square, if anyone has been to NYC, we were right next to the ticket box for the musicals. This is what we did while we were there. "We took a hop-on-hop off Double Decker Bus, that only had seats on the top, to see the sites around the city, which was nice after a long flight getting in around quarter to six in the morning! With the bus tickets we got tickets to see the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building. While on the bus we got a bit of rain but still road, because we needed to get back to our hotel. We also saw Rockerfellar Center, China Town, Manhattan Mall, Chrysler Pinnacle, Broadway, FAO Schwartz, Canal Street (best place to get purses;great bargaining-Thanks Jackie!)-There we went down some crazy hallways, hidden rooms and even a moving truck(not reccommend. The van was not the safest or best place to go-but definately an adventure), Central Park(rode the Merry-Go-Round-fun, watched some people play baseball, an old guy run around without his shirt on,yuck!), Juicy, Hershey Factory, M & M Factory, H&M,Battery Park,Today Show (where we got to shake hands and be on tv with Al Rocker-exciting-Mom and Reegz are famous!!!), Soho, some of us went and saw Phantom of the Opera and we all saw Wicked (was great since I didn't know what the story was about). We took some cab rides-(thought we were going to die a few times-crazy driving for sure) and ate at some great places: Olive Garden(pasta), Shake Shack(great hamburgers and fries), Serendipity(GREAT frozen hot chocolate),Stardust Cafe, Ted's Montanna Grill Steakhouse (had paper straws for us to use), Sbaros(pizza), Roxy's(cheesecake), Applebees, Ruby Tuesday,Evergreens diner(breakfast), McDonald's, Dunkin Doughnuts... The list could go on and on:) We did lots of shopping-got some great purses... relaxed... laughed alot...and enjoyed the city that 'never sleeps.'-especially at night-that's when everyone is up, Celebrated Mother's Day in style-with getting all dressed up and going out on the town and eating a nice steak dinner." We stayed 5 days and 4 nights. It was all so fun.

One thing that was really scary was the Automated Toliet. I don't know if anyone saw the CSI:NY episode with the Automated Toliet, but I did. The Automated Toliet is where you pay 25 cents for a elevator like door to open, to a room that is all wet that and has a toliet, sink, and signs that read "3 minute warning", "Open", "Emergency Open" and many more warnings. The concept is that after one uses the toliet it automatically cleans itself every time someone uses it. In the CSI episode, someone was using the toliet and the Automated wash came on while they were going and they drowned. It was because someone had messed with the controls and wanted someone else to die. So here is our toliet story, My mom and I really needed to go the bathroom and this Automated Toliet was the closest thing around. As we walked up they had a worker there giving it a deep cleaning. He said he was almost done so we waited. While waiting two men came along and waited with us. My Mom was the first to use the bathroom when it was all cleaned. I had told her about the CSI episode so she was neverous to go in, but hurry and went. As she was going, two little boys and the mom or nanny came up. The two men and I let the little boys go infront of us. I don't know about any of you but I don't like going to the bathroom with alot of people waiting, so after the boys I let one of the men go infront of me. I didn't see him put in a quarter after the boys, so the whole time he was in there I was nervous at what was going to happen. Soon we hear him yelling in there, "The DOOR wont Open" his friend and I didn't know what to do. There was no emergency open on the outside to push. After a minute more of the man being in there, the door opened. His friend asked him what happened. He said that he pushed the Emergency open button inside that was near the bottom of the door. His friend didn't need to go so then it was my turn. I was so nervous. I hurried so fast, washed my hands and pushed the open button....Nothing happened. I was like, "OH Crap". Pushed it again thinking I just didn't push it hard enough.... Still nothing. I then spotted the Emergency open and hit it. It took a couple of seconds but then it opened. I was free! And I will never use one again. Getting back to the group I learned that my mom had a hard time getting the door open too. No one else wanted to use it after that.
I found a video on YouTube of the Automated Toilet

Thanks Mom again for the trip.

Amy's 6 Months Old!

We went to the doctor on the 27th of this month for her checkup and she is 17.25 lbs, and 26 1/4 inches tall. That puts her in the 73% for her weight and the 67% for her length.
I like her "BIG", I like her "CHUNKY", to quote Denton's favorite movie.

Here are some 6 Month pictures

Easter 2009

It was the first time we did not go down to Sandy for Easter, so on Saturday night we had fun coloring Easter Eggs. Denton's first time and he did really well. I only let him use three colors( blue, orange and green) because I didn't want all the light colors ruined. The package that I bought said it had 9 colors, but we ended up with like 12 because it had an extra packet.

Russell's Eggs-
He wanted to make one for each of us, so we all got one with our name on it.

Denton's Eggs-
I thought they turned out really good for sitting in the egg bath for a long time.

These were the eggs I colored.
All the eggs when we were done.

The Easter Bunny came.
He gave a basket for Russell, one to Denton and one for Amy and I.

Our Easter outfits

The story of our Easter outfits. It all started with Amy's dress, I got it when I was pregnant with Denton, on sale and not knowing what I was having at the time. Then, Russell has been wanting a purple shirt and tie so that was the second thing we got. I then had the idea that we should all be in purple. I had my Mom send me a tie for Denton. and I had to find a purple shirt for me. My shirt was the hardest. I check 6 stores in Logan, and there was only one shirt that was the right shade of purple and you can tell form the picture that it is still too bright. It all come together thought and we looked good, if I do say so my self.

So Cute Together
Since we couldn't go down to Sandy (We got callings in the Primary. Russell, Amy, and I teach the CTR 5.) Russell's family came up Sunday morning, went to Sacrament with us and then went back to our house and fixed Easter Dinner while we taught our class. It was nice to come home and have dinner all done and it not being in a crock-pot. Thanks again Grandma and Papa Sadler.

New York City!

So I am going to be going to NYC in May with my Mom, two sisters, two sister-in-laws and a new niece. This will be my 4th time going, but first time for others. I was wondering if any one had any new suggestions of where I should go while there. I know I am defiantly going to Serendipity (My Favorite) and the usual tourist spots (Statue of Liberty, Empire, Central ....) But I have not been to the Today Show and was wondering if anyone has been, what time would we have to get there to be on the front row?

Updates

We got a new car. Thank you Dad! Its a Honda Pilot. This picture is the exact color and year. I haven't managed to take a picture of ours yet. It was hard getting everything in the Mazda Protege for four people to go down to Salt Lake. Now we have room to move and grow, but not that second part for awhile.

I hadn't given Russell a hair cut in a month and a half. He started to turn into wolverine.

I have been making hair bows and clips since I found out I was having a girl. This is all of the ones I have. I have given a lot away too, and am still making them.

We went a little over two years with no major accident with Denton. But three weeks ago Denton had to have stitches. Three in total. He was running in our house and tripped on his bike and his head went into the corner of a wooden chair. As soon as he stood up he had a huge bump and it hardly bled at all, but looked pretty deep so that is why we took him to the emergency room. They had to strap him down to put in the stitches. It was sad to see, but it had to be done.

The Stitches

Amy is almost 5 months old. She is rolling around and is almost sitting up on her own. She can't do it for very long before she falls to either side. She sleeps through the night(but then again she always has). She is a girl that demands attention when she is bored. She will scream till you look at her and make her laugh.
Here is her 4 month picture (even though she is almost 5 months old)

One morning Denton wanted to hold Amy, so I put her on him. Then he says "Picture Mommy." I pick Amy back up and go get the camera and then come back to set her down on his lap again. These are the pictures I got.

Amy also got her first sitting up bath the other day and she loved it. Denton had fun with her too. Now whenever I mention that he has to take a bath he says "Amy bath too."
